Purpose of this forum
The Swift (Light / Light PAS) is a unique ultralight sailplane.
Constructed as a flying wing, it is equipped wtih large flaps on the inboard part of the swept wing, hence Swift: Swept Wing with Inboard Flap Trim.
See also: swiftpilots.freeforums.net/thread/8/swift-ultralight-glider.
The Swift is a very light sailplane (unmotorised versions are light enough to enable the glider to be foot-started) yet a lot of thought and experience went into its design and construction, see: swiftpilots.freeforums.net/thread/9/development-swift.
It is also very strong and very well finished. Most Swift pilots just love their very special sailplane.
In the past years, Swift pilots have been meeting in many physical and virtual places the world over. Whenever we meet, there is a lot to share: special experiences, tips and tricks for flying the Swift, ideas for modifications, nice playing grounds..
However most of us just know a few other Swift pilots, so the opportunity for sharing is very limited.
There are Swift owners and pilots the world over. We are aware of and sometimes have contact with pilots from all over Europe, Latin America, Australia and the USA.
We think there is a lot we can share with each other. That was the reason for Christian and me to create this forum.
We aim for it to become the internet platform for the truly global community of owners and pilots of the Swift ultralight sailplane.
We request your help by recommending the forum to other Swift pilots you know.
