I spent a few very nice days of flying in the beautyfull 'Schwäbische Alb' which is a Hilly countriside south of Stuttgart in Germany and which offers very nice XC gliding conditions even for beginners (like me ). I met Josef who is another pationated gliding pilot who like me is flying a Swift Light Electro. Very nice guiding by Josef as we where flying together where i managed to fly 100km on the first day. (my personal best so far ) The area offers a high concentration of airfields and many grass fields for landing so it feels quite safe when flying over unknown terrrain. The Airfield of Grabenstetten, where we were based is very guest friendly ,offers camping on-site and is not so busy as some other glider airfields around. For me this was an excellent experience where i was able to fly the swift in some good thermals and over longer period of time, important to get a good feel for the machine. Many thanks to Josef for the warm welcome and top guiding. I will definitely come back.!!! This is an excellent place with good potential, so other Swift Light Pilots would be more than welcome to fly with us ! all the best, Rob. Free as a bird in the Schwäbische Alb!
