On my 1st gen Swift it seems to be steel I'm thinking about painting it in mat black so as not to get any reflection in the canopy, thermo coating paint to last longer

Hello Syl,
in the Swift Light PAS, some tubes are in Alu (big two tubes along the pilot and other tubes above these two big tubes) The tubes perpendicularly of the two big tubes (in the front of the Swift and in the back side - for the front gear and for the support of the hammoc) are in steel.
Regards
Christian

The steel tubes are made from Chromoly which is an abbreviation for "chromium-molybdenum steel. This type of steel has high strength.
