Hello everybody,
It is time for me to say goodbye and thanks for your participation to that forum and your contribution to the development and the security of the Swift.
When we started the forum with Robert Twiss in 2014, there was nothing to gather the Swift pilots in the world. I thank Robert who started the forum and I'm very proud today to see the result.
I flew my Swift Light PAS (Bailey 175cc) during 11 years and flew 595 hours including 450 hours free flight. It was a great period with my best flight above the flat country side during 6Hr40' and a distance of 253km at Romorantin (France - region La Sologne). I flew one period in the mountains (France - Aspres in the Alps) with Jacques Bott and it was a great souvenir. But it was not my type of flight.
My Swift was my passion and I modified it a lot to increase the comfort in flight and the assembly : a complete instrument's board, a carbon/kevlar seat, boxes for the food and the papers, a total pitot tube in the front of the Swift, a new canopy, loudspeakers, an automatic refueling system, a protection of the rear wheel, a rail to park the Swift in the hangar, a wing transporter, and other accessories. What a lot of work.
My Swift is sold to another Swift Pilot (BrightStar type) and I'm sure he will enjoy and take care of it.
I have met many new pilots who became friends and i am very happy of that. Vincent Piret and Bernard Bleeckx of Aeriane are super guys who made a fantastic job and gave me a fantastic support, always ready to answer to my questions.
I will keep flying but certainly in a motorglider. The aim is to keep gliding but also to discover the travel.
I let Robert Twiss and Philip Trueman continue the work as administrator but I remain a member of the forum to follow the evolution of the Swift and to answer eventually to your questions . I will facilitate the transition until Phil will find a new administrator.
Thanks for all and enjoy your flights. If you are in the region of Marville (France), let me know and I will receive you with pleasure.
Christian
