Dear members, Swift’s pilots,
Even though we are already in February, we wish you a wonderful and happy new year for 2021.
2020 was a very special year. We have discovered how fragile life can be and we were obliged to review our life priorities. We were deprived, according to the different countries, of some freedoms, even that of flying for some people. It was the moment for some pilots to leave us and sell their Swift and for others, to join us to share our marvelous passion. But a restriction in our possibility to fly can also be the opportunity to think about modifications to improve the aerodynamics or maybe for the flight’s comfort.
In 2020, we didn’t send a letter but we would like to come back to the disappearance of three members of the forum and Swift pilots : John Bovin and Josef Stellbauer in March 2019 and Didier Givois in September 2019. It was a hard blow to our sport and it made us all aware of how fragile life can be. Don’t let us forget them and let them live in our memory. Let us remember the good times that we shared with them. A member of our forum gave the name of Josef to his Swift. Thank you.
We would like to come back to our forum that, since the events of Covid, our members have not been writing many articles. We flew or we fly perhaps a little bit less but we are always full of projects. Let us discover them to hold that spirit of exchange and to animate the forum. These exchanges of information across the world and allow each pilot to increase the quality of his Swift or his way of flying.
The forum was created
- To let you discover the Swift and his different versions
- To give you a maximum information about the flying techniques and the schools that were created to help you to learn how to fly the Swift
- To share the numbers of modifications made by the pilots to increase the comfort or the aerodynamics.
- To avoid the incidents or accidents and inform all the pilots of the different actions done to modify or to control some pieces of the Swift. No incident is insignificant and it can happen to everybody. Let us know what problems you had. Each pilot can draw his conclusions to fly better in the future.
- To share the wonderful flights that you had and to let us discover the fabulous places where you are flying.
Then, to your computers. You discovered the Swift thanks to the forum, you learned new things thanks the forum, you received precious advice from another pilot via the forum ? It is now your turn to share your information, your discoveries and your creations. We have to learn from each other’s.
We have to continue to let the forum grow and change, both from the point of view of discovery and pleasure of the flights and the safety in flight.
In 2019, we asked to the first members of our forum to complete their profile with the same information we ask to the new candidate now.
It means:
- Name, surname
- Place where you live, not the address but the town, region, country
- Experience of flight
- Place where you usually fly
- Information about your Swift if you have one
This year, we will ask each member to adapt his profile. It makes the exchanges easier between pilots.
We rely on you so that in 2021, we note that there is an increase in the exchange of information on the forum. We are a wonderful community of pilots passionate about the ultralight flights. Show it to us.
We wish you a very happy year in 2021 with fabulous shared flights, shared and in maximum safety
